The Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office reports that a stolen Dodge Ram pickup was found submerged in Wolf Lake in Almena Township. On March 25, 2026, a fisherman spotted a suspicious object on his sonar and alerted authorities. The next day, the Van Buren County Dive Team located and recovered the vehicle, which had been reported stolen from Kalamazoo County in October 2025. The Sheriff’s Drone Team provided aerial support during the operation. The truck had been underwater for about six months and had become a temporary habitat for fish, which were safely returned to the lake. The investigation is still ongoing.
