NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY)– Crews in Newport News responded to a fire at an apartment Thursday night.
According to officials, crews were called to the fire, in the 100 block of Treeland Court, just after 11 p.m. When crews arrived, they observed smoke coming from the building. After investigating, firefighters found the fire originated in the wall of the sliding doors between two apartments.
Crews quickly extinguished the fire which resulted in smoke and water damage throughout both apartments making them uninhabitable.
One occupant was displaced and has made arrangements to stay elsewhere…
