A San Francisco man is behind bars after police say he forced his way into a woman’s apartment and tried to rape her in mid-February. The woman bolted from her home on the 2100 block of Larkin Street on Feb. 15 and ran for help, according to authorities. Officers tracked down and arrested the suspect the following day.
What Police Say
According to the San Francisco Police Department, an unidentified man followed the victim to her building, shoved his way inside her unit and attempted to sexually assault her. The department says the woman managed to escape and that the investigation is ongoing.

The case was handed over to the department’s Special Victims Unit, which led the follow-up work, per the SFPD Special Victims Unit. Arrest and Charges
Officers arrested 34-year-old Daquane Hubbard on Feb. 16 at a residence on the 900 block of Geary Street and booked him into county jail, according to the police Facebook post. He is facing multiple felony counts: assault with intent to commit a felony; sexual penetration with an object; burglary; robbery; attempted rape; false imprisonment; and sexual battery.
