Woman sentenced in hit-and-run that hospitalized Wakulla County 9-year-old in January 2025

WAKULLA COUNTY, Fla. (WCTV) – A woman was sentenced to 15 years in prison Thursday in connection to a hit-and-run that left a Wakulla County 9-year-old boy hospitalized in January 2025.

Alfreda Nelson was charged last year with leaving the scene of a serious bodily injury in connection to the incident, according to her arrest report. She was released on a $50,000 bond and ordered not to drive while awaiting trial.

However, moments before sentencing, the judge revealed that Nelson had violated that order.
