Drought continues to worsen across Florida

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — A new Drought Monitor came out Thursday morning, and it shows the drought getting worse across the state.

Exceptional Drought, which is level 5 out of 5, is spreading across north Florida and into Georgia. Right now, Tallahassee is behind by about 6.5 inches of rainfall this year.

Locally, our drought conditions haven’t changed, and most of South Florida is still under Extreme Drought.

West Palm Beach and Vero Beach are also both behind on rain for the year.

West Palm is behind over 4.5 inches of rain, while Vero Beach is behind by close to 3 inches…
