BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – TSA agents at the Baton Rouge airport are facing their second missed paycheck, but despite the financial strain, they are still showing up to work.
“Operations have been normal since the shutdown has started. That’s really a testament to our local TSA professionals continuing to show up to work despite not receiving a paycheck,” said Louis Hubbard, assistant director of aviation.
Hubbard said airport staff won’t let TSA workers face this alone. Two donation boxes are set up: one near the main entrance, and the other on the second floor, right before the TSA checkpoint.
Community support pours in
The community has answered the call. The Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank dropped off boxes of food last week. Set Free Indeed Ministry provided a hot lunch. Dave’s Hot Chicken pitched in, too…
