The Lafayette High senior, who combined with freshman Ryan Cahanin to pitch a shutout, homered on the first pitch of his at-bat in the eighth inning of a 2-0 win over Southside at Fabacher Field on Thursday.
“He might’ve had one home run earlier this season, but nothing bigger than a walk-off against a crosstown rival,” Lions coach Sam Taulli said. “I told him to spread out and work the angle we did in batting practice today. The first pitch was a slider, and it was a well-timed swing.”…
