(EL PASO COUNTY, Colo.) — A 47-year-old woman was killed in a crash on Falcon Highway on Monday evening, March 23, after her SUV ended up wrapped around a tree.
According to the Colorado State Patrol (CSP), troopers responded shortly after 8 p.m. on Monday to a reported single-car crash on Falcon Highway west of Curtis Road. CSP said initial investigation revealed a 2015 Ford Explorer was heading westbound on Falcon Highway when it suddenly lost control and began to rotate counterclockwise, veering off the right side of the road.
The Ford then hit a shrub and several t-posts holding up a fence on private property. The Ford finally collided sideways with a tree, and the front and rear portions of the SUV ended up wrapped around the tree.
The driver, a 47-year-old woman, was pronounced dead on scene. The El Paso County Coroner will identify her, CSP said…
