SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Sioux Falls Police said Friday that the autopsy on McKenna Wendel was completed on Monday, and law enforcement is waiting for results.
It could take weeks for those results to arrive, police said in an email related to Friday’s Sioux Falls Police briefing. The Friday briefing had no additional information.

Wendel, 14, was found dead in rural Brookings County on Thursday, March 19. She was last seen in Sioux Falls on Friday, March 13, law enforcement has said. The circumstances of her death have been called suspicious by law enforcement.
