Staffers hit, pushed in fights at 2 Augusta high schools

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – A teacher was pushed to a floor and an employee was struck in separate fights this week at high schools in Augusta.

Four students got into a fight Friday at Butler High School, and a teacher was pushed to the floor, parents were told in a letter from Dr. Valerie Squire-Kelly, principal.

A bill is nearing passage that would require weapons detection systems in a further reaction to a 2024 school shooting that killed four.

Also Friday, parents of students at Cross Creek High School learned of a fight that happened this week…
