Buncombe County to be placed under burning ban

BUNCOMBE COUNTY, N.C. (FOX Carolina) – The Buncombe County Fire Marshal’s Office has issued an open burning ban that will take effect on Saturday.

The burn will be put in place due to adverse atmospheric conditions that include low humidity, gusty winds and dry fuels, leading to extreme fire danger conditions, officials said.

All open burning, including yard waste, debris and land-clearing burns is included in the ban. Fires in pits, barbecue grills, cooking fires, warming fires, or chimeneas and outdoor stoves smaller than three feet in diameter are exempt…
