NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) — The North Charleston Police Department has arrested a woman accused of stabbing her boyfriend in a domestic dispute Thursday evening.
Olivia Vernell Hicks, 37, is charged with domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature, according to jail records.
Officers responded to a report of a stabbing in the 7700 block of Mendelwood Drive at 6 p.m. Upon arrival, they located a man bleeding heavily from his hand and provided first aid until EMS arrived and transported him to a medical facility for further treatment.
An investigation revealed that the man and his girlfriend were in an argument that suddenly turned physical. He locked Hicks out of the house, but Hicks obtained a kitchen knife to open a window. As he tried to close the window, she allegedly stabbed him, injuring his hand…
