SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – Residents of Longboat Key are asking the Florida Department of Transportation to take one more look at its preferred redesign of the Longboat Key bridge.
FDOT’s vison for the new bridge is a 78-foot tall fixed bridge that would have shared-use path for pedestrians and bikers.
But residents say they want to have a smaller drawbridge that keeps the same two-lane roadway but adds eight-foot-wide shoulders – and a shared use path for pedestrians and bikers…
