Perry County man accused of assaulting police officer on traffic stop

LEWISTOWN, Pa. (WHTM) — A Perry County man is behind bars after police say he was pulled over after a preliminary hearing for a separate incident and assaulted a police officer.

Boyd James Bitting, 40, of Shermans Dale, was charged Wednesday by Lewistown Police with felony aggravated assault of a police officer and misdemeanor resisting arrest, reckless endangerment, and DUI.
