Los Angeles, California – Just as warmer spring weather begins to settle in, a new storm system is set to bring snow to the Sierra Nevada and light rain chances to Southern California, signaling that winter isn’t quite finished yet.
Forecasters say two waves of precipitation will impact the state early next week, with mountain snow and cooler temperatures returning before another warmup later in the weekend.
Sierra Nevada to see rounds of snow
According to the National Weather Service, the first round of snow will arrive Monday into Tuesday evening, bringing light to moderate snowfall across higher elevations.
Areas near Mammoth and the Tahoe region could see:
- Up to a couple inches of snow in initial wave
- Slick travel conditions in mountain passes
A second, stronger system is expected Wednesday into Thursday, delivering more impactful snowfall…
