A written plea of not guilty has been entered for a Hernando woman who has been arrested and accused of defrauding an Ocala company out of $1 million.
Records show Frances Watson, an assistant public defender, is representing Jean A. Gonzalez, who was arrested on charges of grand theft $100,000 or more and organized fraud $50,000 or more.
County Judge LeAnn Mackey-Barnes signed the warrant for Gonzalez’s arrest on March 11. Gonzalez was booked into the county jail on March 12 and initially held without bail. The court later set bail at $60,000, according to jail records, and she was released March 13 at 4:40 p.m. after posting bond…
