Man accused of car break-in, gun theft before $11K withdrawal

NORTH PALM BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — A man is accused of breaking into a man’s car at the beginning of March and stealing a backpack that contained a gun, an ankle holster, wallets and credit cards. Days later a total of $11,800 was withdrawn from the victim’s bank account.

An arrest affidavit from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office says deputies spoke with the victim, who reported that on March 1 at about 8:45 a.m., he and his girlfriend went into a Walgreens to make a purchase. When they returned about five minutes later, they found someone had entered their vehicle and stolen a backpack, as well as the victim’s girlfriend’s wallet and credit cards.

Responding deputies found no prints in the car, and no surveillance video caught the suspect entering the vehicle…
