This weekend—and this weekend only, because flowers die—the Fleurs de Villes MUSE floral exhibition will be on display at NorthPark Center. For the uninitiated, the exhibition features a collection of floral artistry in the form of mannequins dressed in fresh blooms. Some of Dallas-Fort Worth’s most talented florists worked with some of North Texas’s arts and cultural institutions to create each display, and they’ve been working to build those pieces since midweek. (Barring, you know, a weird momentary interruption.)
On Saturday, around lunchtime, the artists who created the displays will be available at the mall’s level one, between Neiman Marcus and Dillard’s, to talk about their creative processes. In the afternoon, shoppers will be treated to performances by some of the participating organizations. You can see the full list of pairings here, but one provided a special treat: The Dallas Opera, which paired with Lizzie Bee’s Flower Shoppe, created Adina, one of the characters in The Elixir of Love, which will be one of the Opera’s productions next season. You can see here and below. Want to find more things to do this weekend? Check out our event listings…
