ST. MARTINVILLE, LA. (KLFY) –A St. Martinville woman is speaking out after her husband was found dead just minutes from where he was last seen, raising questions about how the case was handled and why a Silver Alert was never issued.
Lara Daspit said the location along Banker Road in St. Martinville is the last place her husband, Willard Daspit Jr., was seen alive. She said his body was later discovered about a minute down the road. Daspit is alleging law enforcement did not do enough during the search for her husband and believes a Silver Alert could have helped bring more attention to the case sooner.
