NiJaree Canady’s week has been anything other than normal.
It began on Tuesday when the Texas Tech softball team headed to Stephenville for a mid-week game against Tarleton State. Normally, the senior ace wouldn’t pitch in such a game, but Canady had obligations on Wednesday (taking a trip to New York and shadowing Jessica Mendoza around ESPN) and knew she wasn’t going to get her normal bullpen work before this weekend’s series against Iowa State.
Canady started that game, pitching five innings with nine strikeouts in the 12-2 win. From there, she took a car to the airport where she flew to the Big Apple. On Wednesday morning, she made an appearance on the “Get Up” morning show, then came back to Lubbock for practice on Thursday…
