Lincoln math teacher surprised with Scottish Rite Distinguished Teacher of the Year Award

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – Lincoln Public School administrators and Lincoln Scottish Rite members surprised Scott Middle School math teacher Alicia Davis with the 2026 Scottish Rite Distinguished Teacher of the Year Award Friday morning during a special assembly.

Lincoln Scottish Rite members developed an education committee in 1964 to recognize excellent classroom teachers.

The organization honored its first Scottish Rite Award recipient in 1965. In addition to the recognition, the group also presents each award winner with $10,000. The award is presented to one LPS teacher each year…
