No capes, just turnout gear: OKC firefighters save chickens from blaze

OKLAHOMA CITY (KOKH) — The Oklahoma City Fire Department saved the lives of some chickens in their search for “signs of life” after a structure fire, on Friday.

According to OKC FD, that doesn’t just mean human life, it means anything living and breathing that needs help.

During a recent structure fire, the crews went to work searching, protecting, and saving lives. Unlike the typical human residents they help out, this mission included a few feathered friends who needed help to get out. The firefighters’ quick action saved the lives of several chickens and safely rescued them from the flames…
