3 men indicted in $8M gold bar scheme

ST. LOUIS — Three people accused of being involved in a gold bar scheme to steal $8 million from elderly people have been indicted on federal charges.

Raj Chauhan, age 33; Monarch Sachdev, age 28; and Elon Harper, age 27, each were indicted Feb. 4 on one count of wire fraud, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for Missouri’s eastern district said Friday.

Chauhan was the final defendant to appear in federal court in St. Louis, where he pleaded not guilty Friday, officials said. Sachdev and Harper had pleaded not guilty earlier this month…
