Colorado Springs deputies warn of scam calls demanding money, and medication

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) -The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office is warning the public about a scam where callers are pretending to be deputies and demanding money — and in some cases, even medication.

The warning comes after a viewer contacted 11 News, saying they received a call from someone claiming to be with the sheriff’s office and were told they had a warrant.

Deputies say they’ve received multiple reports of similar calls. In many cases, scammers use names of real law enforcement officers and pressure people to act quickly by claiming they could be arrested if they don’t comply…
