Heavy rain, gusty winds, and large hail pounded parts of the area last night, with many communities picking up around 2 inches of rain and some reporting significant hail.
Portland and Fort Wayne both recorded 2 inches or more of rainfall. Bluffton was close behind, with nearly 2 inches of rain.
Elsewhere, Wabash, Huntington, and Marion each picked up more than 1 inch of rainfall, while Warsaw recorded nearly 1 inch.
The storms also produced large hail across parts of the area. Huntington County reported tennis ball-sized hail. Golf ball-sized hail was reported in Warren, quarter-sized hail fell in Somerset, and ping pong ball-sized hail was reported in Jay County.
