A Rochester man found dead on the side porch of a Lyell Avenue house Thursday morning was identified by police, who deemed his death a homicide.
Body discovered on side porch
Officers found the body of a 40-year-old man on the side porch multi-unit house at 476 Lyell Ave., several blocks west of Broad Street, around 7:30 a.m. on March 26, according to Capt. Greg Bello of the Rochester Police Department.
Case now identified now a homicide
Curtis Wilson, 40, of Rochester, was identified as the man found dead on the side porch at 476 Lyell and his death was determined to be a homicide by the Monroe County Medical Examiner’s Office, said Capt. Frank Umbrino of the Rochester Police Department.
Altercation led to homicide
Umbrino said that Wilson was involved in an altercation at or near the home which, in turn, led to his death. Police did not disclose Wilson’s cause of death.
