Investigation underway after 16-year-old shot and killed in north suburb

Authorities are investigating after a 16-year-old girl was found shot and killed in an apartment in a north suburb of Chicago on Saturday morning.

Around 11 a.m., Cook County Sheriff’s Police responded to a report of a possible gunshot victim and found a 16-year-old girl who had been shot in an apartment on the 3600 block of South Salem Walk in unincorporated Glenview.

Officers attempted life-saving measures, authorities said, and she was transported to a local hospital where she was later pronounced dead…
