“No Kings” rally draws hundreds to downtown Rockford

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Hundreds of Stateline residents took to the streets of downtown Rockford for a third round of “No Kings” rallies.

Several organizers were behind today’s rally, including Rockford Urban Ministries and the League of Women Voters. Organizers say the rally is to oppose what they describe as authoritarianism under President Donald Trump.

President of the League of Women Voter of Greater Rockford, Jennifer Blaisdell says the crowd that came to rally brought her joy and solidarity. “I think really to me it’s very energizing. Sometimes people can feel so alone in their frustration with everything going on. I think groups coming today helps people know that we are not alone in our concern for the country. Using our voice, each of us doing that as much as we can does makes a difference. Hopefully that’s the message that’s here today,” said Blaisdell…
