PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Opposition is building against a proposal to open a new location of a major fast-food joint in Oregon’s wine country.
As first reported by Newsberg, some Dundee residents have expressed concern for the plan to construct a McDonald’s on 225 SE Highway 99W. The drive-thru would take up just over an acre of land in the “community commercial zoning district,” a land use application notice for property owners within 100 feet of the project area shows.
City Administrator Courtney Patterson told KOIN 6 the prospective owner of the new location has owned several other properties in Dundee. But residents have argued the proposal would violate multiple sections of the city code, including one that requires “attractive” developments in commercial areas, according to an opposition letter prepared by community members…
