Child with autism rescued from lake, Gwinnett police say

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — A child with autism was rescued from a lake in Gwinnett County, police said.

Police said the 8-year-old boy, who is nonverbal, went missing on March 24. Police learned he was drawn to nearby Freeman Lake.

Officers and community members searched the lake and found the boy clinging to a branch. Police said, “A civilian immediately entered the water and rescued the child.”…
