The Montgomery County Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) announced that beginning in October 2026, new rules will limit how construction and demolition (C&D) materials are accepted at the Shady Grove Processing Facility and Transfer Station.
The changes aim to improve recycling, safety, and efficiency in handling the roughly 300,000 tons of C&D material generated annually.
