Gold-Laced ‘La Zarina’ Pizza Turns Heads At Boston’s Prudential Center

Boston’s Prudential Center just picked up a serious status slice. CeCarré Pizza & Provisions has opened a new shop inside the mall and is already leaning into spectacle with La Zarina, a Roman pinsa-style pie that piles on luxe toppings like sturgeon caviar and crème fraîche, with the option to finish it with edible 23-karat gold.

The pinsa is priced at $12 a slice or $50 for a whole pie, and the team has trimmed the bake time to about seven minutes to keep lines moving. The glittery launch follows the owners’ rebrand from Descendent and is designed to pair theatrical presentation with food that, they insist, tastes as good as it looks.

In an interview with WBZ NewsRadio, owners Sam and Nina Patel said the concept took shape while they were on vacation, with Sam describing it as “her dream to have a pizza place.” They told WBZ they wanted something customers could bring back to the office or to meetings that would turn heads yet still “tastes really good,” not just a gimmick.
