NEW YORK CITY (PIX11) — Mayor Zohran Mamdani made a first step toward a pricey campaign promise, and he’s put Renita Francois in charge.
Mamdani last week announced the creation of the Office of Community Safety and Francoi as Deputy Mayor for Community Safety. It’s a step toward a $1.1 billion promise to create a full Department of Community Safety, something not included in Mamdani’s preliminary budget.
