HOPE MILLS, N.C. (WNCN) — Deputies and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation are probing a Friday night shooting that killed a 20-year veteran deputy, who was off duty, in a dispute with another off-duty officer in Cumberland County.
According to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to a shooting just before 11 p.m. Friday on the 1600 block of Seattle Slew Lane in Hope Mills.
