The Fayetteville NC Area Convention & Visitors Bureau is pleased to announce that the 2028 NJCAA Division I Women’s Golf Championship will be held at Gates Four Golf & Country Club in Fayetteville, N.C., bringing a national collegiate sporting event to Cumberland County that is expected to generate significant overnight stays and visitor spending for the destination.
Scheduled for May 8-11, 2028, the championship is expected to include 15 teams, bringing an estimated 90 to 120 players to the market. With many attendees anticipated to stay six to seven nights, the event represents a significant piece of sports tourism business for Fayetteville and Cumberland County and is projected to produce about 350 room nights, more than $144,000 in total business sales and approximately $5,200 in local taxes. In addition to players and coaches, the event is expected to draw parents, fans and supporters to Fayetteville for nearly a week, creating meaningful economic impact for local hotels, restaurants and businesses.
