MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The National Weather Service Memphis office has issued dangerous fire weather condition warnings for the Mid-South on Saturday.
They say the low relative humidity, gusty winds, and dry fuels will result in critically dangerous conditions that could lead to fires developing and spreading quickly.
A Red Flag Warning is in effect from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. for most of North Mississippi, and a Fire Danger Statement is in effect across the remainder of the Mid-South.

NWS says to avoid open flames or sparks, keep vehicles off dry grass, and to properly discard cigarettes.
This warning comes after the Lafayette County Fire Department (LCFD) said it extinguished a large wildland fire that burned nearly 30 acres of land following a controlled burn Thursday afternoon.
