Police arrest 2 women for felony theft, other charges in Mt. Juliet

MT. JULIET, Tenn. (WKRN) — Two Nashvillians “with a history of felony theft” were taken into custody in Mt. Juliet after being accused of stealing from Providence Marketplace Saturday afternoon, according to officials.

The Mt. Juliet Police Department said a witness saw the theft in progress and called 911 on Saturday, March 28. Through the city’s recent investment in Flock Live 911, officers were instantly notified and able to see the caller’s location and hear the call in real time.

Authorities said they were able to respond within minutes, “while the suspects were still actively committing the crime.”

“The suspects believed they had gotten away with more than $2,000 in stolen merchandise from Dick’s Sporting Goods,” the MJPD posted on Facebook. “While one waited in the car, the other entered Ross in an attempt to continue stealing. Officers arrived quickly and safely took both into custody.”…
