Alabama grew faster than the nation in 2025, and most of the state’s 67 counties added people.
But that growth wasn’t equally distributed across the state. Instead, most of it came from north Alabama — home to the No.1 and No. 2 fastest growing counties in the state. The beaches and counties with colleges and universities also saw big gains.
