National Naval Aviation Museum open to the public 7 days a week

PENSACOLA, Fla. (WKRG) — The National Naval Aviation Museum is open seven days a week to the public.

Boil water notice lifted for Crestview neighborhoods

According to a National Aviation Museum Foundation news release, entry into the museum is determined by requirements to enter Naval Air Station Pensacola.

Those access requirements include:

  • Department of Defense ID cardholders are able to visit the museum seven days a week and may escort up to 15 people in the same vehicle. They must also remain with anyone they bring onto the base at all times.
  • Members of the general public who are not DoD visitors can access the museum on Saturdays and Sundays.

Anyone who is over the age of 18 and does not have a DoD ID card has to complete certain steps:

  • Stop at the Visitor Control Center and present a valid government-issued ID. Accepted forms of IDs include a REAL ID-compliant driver’s license and a U.S. passport.
  • All non-DoD visitors must have a background check completed on them before they are able to receive a visitor pass. The background check will take place at the Visitor Control Center.
  • Once visitors receive their pass, they will go to the West Gate entrance at the south end of Blue Angel Parkway

The release said visitors should plan extra time to go through the security process.

“We want our visitors to know that the Museum is open and ready to welcome them,” said Kyle Cozad, RADM (Ret), President and CEO of the Naval Aviation Museum Foundation. “While access varies during the week, we continue to offer a world-class experience for all who can visit.”…
