SAN DIEGO (CN) — The children of a 65-year-old woman who was found dead inside her car at an impound lot can sue San Diego and three of the city’s police officers after a federal judge allowed their negligence claim to survive.
Monica Cameroni de Adams was sitting in her parked minivan in 2023, a little after 1 a.m., when a drunk driver smashed into her vehicle and another. Police officers arrived at the scene and inspected the wreck — Cameroni de Adams’ rear door, hood and front bumper had sustained “moderate property damage.”
The mangled minivan was somehow towed to an impound lot with Cameroni de Adams still inside it. Ten days later, her children filed a missing person’s report, after multiple “happy birthday” messages had gone unreturned…
