A violent chain of events that began with a shooting and ended on a railroad trestle has left a Darby man dead, authorities said. Darby police said they are investigating after a man was shot and later struck by a CSX freight train on March 25. He was flown to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, where he died of his injuries. According to Delco Times, investigators believe the man was first shot in the leg on the 200 block of Greenway Avenue. At some point afterward, he ended up on the train trestle above the 700 block of Walnut Street, where a CSX freight train struck him. Chief Gabe told the paper that the exact sequence is still under active investigation.
