‘A beautiful moment’: Fisherman witnesses rescue of juvenile manatee in St. Pete

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., (WFLA) — Earlier this week, the community came together to help save a manatee in trouble.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) said the small, male manatee was around 6 feet long and lethargic.

This rescue happened at the Coffee Pot Bayou, which is a very common place to see manatees. On Tuesday, March 24, a group that had gathered noticed one manatee and that something was wrong.
