Nebraska leaders marked Severe Weather Awareness Week (March 23–27) by recognizing students who created standout posters promoting safety and preparedness. Lt. Governor Joe Kelly and NEMA Director Craig Strong announced the winners during a proclamation event in Lincoln.
Top honors went to Rubee Vandry of Trumble Park Elementary (Papillion), followed by Charley Peng Fager of Ada Robinson Elementary (Lincoln), Sadie Rabstejnek of Southern Elementary (Wymore), and Greyson Paswaters of Norwood Park Elementary (Lincoln).
