Burglary suspect dies while in St. Louis police custody

ST. LOUIS — St. Louis police are investigating after a 68-year-old man died after being arrested by officers.

According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, officers saw a bicyclist at about 1 p.m. Saturday near South Grand Boulevard and Itaska Street. The officers knew the man was wanted on 10 outstanding felony warrants, including burglary, property damage and felony theft. He was also a person of interest in three other burglaries.

Police said the man took off on his bicycle, and when officers tried to detain him, he fell off the bike. Once he was under arrest, police said they found suspected narcotics on him…
