ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – The 2026 edition of the Empty Bowl Project brought a massive crowd to the Dena’ina Center in downtown Anchorage Saturday.
The event, first held in 1994, uses the ‘empty bowl’ metaphor to raise funds and awareness for those in Anchorage experiencing homelessness and hunger.
“It reminds me that the people that we serve, that we’re privileged to serve, aren’t forgotten,” Bean’s Cafe CEO Scott Lingle said of the large turnout. “That everybody within our community is here to help support that purpose and to offer purpose.”…
