Sesame-Free “Bagels N Appz” Opens on Long Island, Replacing Bagel Town

A familiar spot on Hempstead Avenue just got a fresh start. Bagel Town, a longtime neighborhood staple in West Hempstead, has officially reopened under new ownership as Bagels N Appz, bringing a refurbished space, an expanded menu, and a kosher certification upgrade to the area.

The new owners also run Main Street Bagels in Queens, so they’re not figuring things out from scratch. They’re bringing an established operation and a broader, more modern menu concept to the West Hempstead location, with plans to continue building it out as the soft opening phase progresses.

What’s New on the Menu

The rebrand is more than cosmetic. Bagels N Appz is expanding well beyond the traditional bagel shop model, with a menu that mirrors much of what Main Street Bagels offers in Queens. That means classic bagels and house-made spreads alongside newer additions like guacamole on bagels, an expanded tuna selection, and a growing pastry lineup that includes borekas, chocolate croissants, cheese croissants, and cheese danishes.

Pasta dishes are also in the mix, which signals a shift toward more of a cafe-style operation. The menu is expected to keep evolving as the store settles into its full footing post-Passover.

Sesame-Free and Nut-Free

Bagels N Appz is operating as a sesame-free and nut-free establishment, continuing a key feature from the Bagel Town days. For customers managing common food allergies, this remains an important distinction and makes the spot genuinely accessible to a wider range of people.

Delivery Coming After Passover

The store is currently takeout and in-store only, but third-party delivery through Uber Eats and Grubhub is in the works and expected to launch after Passover. Hours are currently 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with an extension to 5:00 PM planned in the near future.
