INDIANAPOLIS (WANE) – In their first appearance in the IHSAA State Finals, New Haven’s storybook season ended with a 71-61 loss to Cathedral on Saturday at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
New Haven clinged onto a 51-49 leading heading into the fourth quarter. After Cathedral regained the lead, New Haven freshman Jayon Thomas scored on a chance bucket to make it a 58-57 game with 4:28 left. New Haven didn’t score another field goal until there was less than a minute left in the game.
Tarvar Baskerville led New Haven with 20 points on 8-of-14 shooting. Jadrien Ezell also reached double figures with 15 points, hitting two of New Haven’s three total triples in the game…
