Two Keys Tavern told to stop work, lacks city permits in neighborhood zone

Two Keys Tavern was to reopen on April 23, but, as of publication, the bar does not have the proper city permits needed to continue renovations.

Two Keys was told to stop work by the City of Lexington on March 24 due to its lack of fencing and interior remodel permits. Residents of the nearby Historic South Hill Neighborhood have raised concerns that Two Keys violates Lexington’s zoning codes.

According to Kentucky Kernel reporting, the college sports bar has been open on-and-off since the pandemic, with this being its third attempted reopening. The bar’s current location is on 503 S. Upper St., beside the Target below the Hub on Campus Lexington…
