One of Mobile’s most highly traveled routes getting coordinated traffic signals, other improvements

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – The City of Mobile-Government Facebook page this week gave an update on work being done to improve the Dauphin Street corridor.

Work is moving along nicely to improve infrastructure and traffic safety along one of the most highly traveled routes in the city — the Dauphin Street corridor. Right now, crews are working to prepare for the installation of new curb and gutter along the road.

The full project will cover Dauphin Street on both sides of I-65 from Sage Avenue to Rimes Road. Once complete, there will be coordinated traffic signals, better access management, and more modern infrastructure, such as new lighting, roadway resurfacing and several other improvements…
