Vero Beach Police release updated warrant with new pictures of murder suspect

VERO BEACH – Vero Beach Police have released an updated arrest warrant for Jesse S. Ellis with photos taken from a surveillance video from March 24 which show relatively clear images of the murder suspect.

Jesse S. Ellis, 64, is wanted on two counts of homicide for allegedly shooting Danny Ooley, Indian River County assistant director of public works, and Stacie Ellis Mason, an IRC traffic analyst technician, in Ooley’s Ford F-150 Ranger at about 7 a.m., March 24 in back parking lot of Indian River County Public Library, 1600 S. 21st St., Vero Beach.

It is believed that Ellis, after fatally shooting the couple, left in his pickup truck and drove to South Beach Park, where he then swam out about 900 yards from shore, police have said.
